CA+T strategic partner and UX designer Behavior Design earns Gold 2014 Hermes Award, 2014 American Web Design Award, and 2014 Creativity International Award.
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 23, 2014) -- The Center for Art and Thought (CA+T) is delighted to share that Behavior Design, UX designer and CA+T strategic partner, has been honored with three more awards for the production and design of CA+T's website (www.centerforartandthought.org). In addition to AVA Digital and Horizon Interactive awards, Behavior Design earned a 2014 Gold Hermes Award in the category of Website Overall/Non-profit, an Honorable Mention from the 2014 Creativity Awards in the category of Website New Media & Web Design-Public Service/Nonprofit, and a 2014 American Web Design Award in the category of Websites.
“An international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies,” the Hermes Creative Awards is one of the largest such competitions, drawing international entrants from small local clubs to Fortune 500 companies. The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), a global organization of thousands of industry professionals, administers the awards and judge submissions. Conducted over eight week, the rigorous judging has earned a reputation for accuracy, fairness and credibility. Gold Winners score 80-89 on a 100 point scale.
Established in 1970, the Creativity International Awards are one of the longest running independent international advertising and graphic design competitions. The judges, all professionals in advertising and design from around the world, volunteer their time and expertise to assess each entry through a blind review process, and they consider “creativity, design, usability, theme/idea, execution & follow-through.”
Granted by Good Design USA magazine, the American Web Design Awards are an “annual showcase of the power of design to enhance websites and online communications,” and this year saw an “exponential” growth in competition. Good Design USA is an industry publication, directed towards graphic designers and other creative professionals.
A premier provider of new media design and strategy solutions, Behavior Design (behaviordesign.com) has collaborated with CA+T since 2011 to realize a compelling online user experience for the organization and to support CA+T's ambitious mission to become a home for alternative knowledge production. Behavior Design worked closely with CA+T's Executive Director and core staff to develop a new space for content curation, exploration, and dialogue. Behavior’s innovative format for CA+T’s website enables a virtual experience in which forms of expression within both art and scholarship (i.e., video, image, text) intermix in a thoughtful and seamless way.
These three awards bring Behavior Design's total to five for the design and production of CA+T's website. In February, Behavior Design was awarded a 2014 AVA Digital Award for excellence in the creative convergence of digital arts, technology, and information (centerforartandthought.org/news/cats-website-wins-ava-digital-award), and in April Behavior was awarded a 2013 Horizon Interactive Award for production and design (centerforartandthought.org/news/cats-website-wins-horizon-interactive-award). Warmest congratulations, Behavior Design!
